Steve has been a strong, Independent voice for keeping Maplewood Square as a Neighborhood Business District. He's supported our small business community through the pandemic. He's championed the Maplewood Square Visioning project.

Steve works for safer and more accessible streets and sidewalks so that seniors and families with children especially can be safe throughout the neighborhood. He advocates for maintaining train service and for quicker and more frequent bus service.

Steve believes in protecting all the things that make Ward 6 a great place to live. He has secured grants to re-build Trafton Park and upgrade the Joan Carter Callahan Playground. He has organized frequent neighborhood clean-up days. He supports conserving green space and protecting historic buildings.

Steve successfully worked with the Mayor and City Engineering Department to secure $2.75 million in funding to speed up removal of lead pipes, especially those that pose the greatest risk to our children. He has fought for repairs to be made to our streets and sidewalks.

Steve is a strong voice for our diverse communities. He advocates for equity and language access initiatives.

Steve is a responsive Councillor who is always available to help residents with a wide range of concerns. He led efforts to help fix storm drains that flooded homes in Ward 6.

Steve supports and sponsors family friendly events throughout the year -- like July 4th and Maplewood Fest -- to help bring neighbors together and support our small businesses.

Steve supports efforts to make Malden more resilient to climate change by developing action plans and planting needed trees to help clean our air and lower neighborhood temperatures.

Steve has worked with the Mayor and his City Council colleagues to host an annual Bike Safety Fair for kids (and adults too!) to improve safety and encourage cycling.
